MRS. JAMES P. STARR.

FAIRFIELD. - Mrs. James P. Starr, 81, a resident of the Fairfield community for 47 years, died Sunday about 3:30 a.m. at her home, southwest of here, after a long period of failing health.

The body is at the Hoskins funeral home and friends may call there this evening. There will be a graveside service Tuesday at 3 p.m. in the Fellows cemetery near Keosauqua.

Mrs. Starr was the former Chole Fellows, daughter of Stephen D. and An Bowen Fellows and was born April 15, 1872, in Keosauqua and was reared there. She was married March 17, 1892, to James P. Starr, then an attorney in Keosauqua,, and they moved in 1906 to Fairfield where he was an attorney there for many years. He and one son preceded Mrs. Starr in death.

Mrs. Starr was a member of the First Christian church and took an active part there as long as her health permitted.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Allen D. Pettee of Summit, N.J., Mrs. Don Clark of Omaha, and Mrs. Wilferd Rayner of Jackson, Mich., and one son, Maj. Carlton Starr of Charlottesville, Va. There are nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, also one brother, George Fellows of Fairfield, and one sister, Mrs. Charlene W. Brown of Portland, Ores.
