Double Funeral
Solomon Hawk was found dead Friday afternoon in the stable at his home two miles west of Bonaparte on the S.F. Henry farm. He had been coughing considerably recently and been failing in health but had not been considered seriously ill.
His wife had been seriously ill for some time and her death has been expected instead of his. She lingered until 3:30 Sunday afternoon when she passed away just 48 hours after her husband’s decease.
Funeral services are to be held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 at the Baptist church.
They leave two daughters, Mrs. Mattie Munson of Plymouth, Ill., and Mrs. J.F. Boyer of Bonaparte; and four sons, James, Frank and William of Bonaparte, and John of Memphis, Mo.
(Both are buried at Bonaparte Cemetery according to Bonaparte Cemetery index. rr)
