Mrs. Overman.
Mrs. Nancy E. Overman, wife of Samuel Overman of this place, died Thursday, the 22nd, and was buried from the home of her son-in-law, Mr. Charles A. Baker, Friday, the 23d. Nancy E. Robertson was born in Adams county, Ill., Feb. 26, 1835. She was married to Mr. Samuel Overman Dec. 26, 1850. Her husband and five children survive her, viz., Mrs. Hugh Horn of Harrisburg township, Mrs. Mary Lee of Centerville, and Mr.s Chas A. Baker and Messrs. J.M. Overman and W.C. Overman of Keosauqua. Mr. and Mrs. Overman moved to Lee County in 1865, and to Keosauqua in 1876. Mrs. Overman was a member of the M.E. church. She was a kind and devoted wife and mother, and a truly good woman. She was most highly respect and esteemed. For six or seven years before her death she had been an invalid. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. R.L. Patterson, all the children and grandchildren of the deceased being present.
