Widow Of Prominent Wholesale Grocer Dies At 4 A.M. In North Court Street Home.

Mrs. Carrie Ellen Overman of 631 North Court street, widow of the late W.C. Overman, prominent wholesale grocer here, died suddenly about 4 a.m. today at her home.

Mrs. Overman was born in Keosauqua, the daughter of John and Julia Ann Varner. She was reared and married there, moving with Mr. Overman and the family to Ottumwa in 1902.

She was a member of the First Methodist Episcopal church and the Unity club, a social organization, here.

Surviving are two daughters, the Misses Helen and Hazel Overman, at home; and one brother, Calvin Varner of Hollywood, Calif.

W.C. Overman preceded her in death January 25, 1933.

The body will be returned to the home late this afternoon. Funeral arrangements have not been made.
