Lucy Ann Lincoln was born near Camden, Preble county, Ohio, April 11, 1833, and died at Wapello, Iowa, March 21, 1902, aged 63 years, 11 months, 10 days. She was married to Isaac S. Campbell in Camden, Ohio, January 13, 1856. Four children were born to this union: Hattie, now Mrs. W.S. Sommerville, of this place, Frank P. of Denver, Col., John B. of Gray, Iowa, and Mary J., who died in infancy. In September, 1864, she with her family came to Keosauqua, where Mr. Campbell died. May 16, 1888, she was married to J.W. Phillips, who died October 11, 1888. A year ago last November she went to Wapello where she has since been with relatives. Six weeks before her death, she was taken with pneumonia and after a few days convalescence she was seized with heart failure and passed away very suddenly.

She had been a member of the M.E. church since about '72 or '73, and a sister of the Daughters of Rebekah since '70 and died an honored member in good standing. She leaves three children, 11 grand children and four great grand children and two stepdaughters Miss Jennie Phillips of Wellington, Delaware, and Mrs. Ida Pearson of Keosauqua. The funeral was held in the M.E. church. The services were conducted by Rev. W.R. Jeffrey, Jr., of the M.E. church assisted by Rev. C.E. Perkins of the Congregational church. The interment was in the Keosauqua cemetery.
