Charles F. Pember, youngest child of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Pember was born at Pemberville, Ohio, September 15, 1856 and passed away at his home in Keosauqua, Iowa, February 3, 1937, aged 80 years, 4 months and 29 days.
When a young man he came to Iowa, where he met and married Mrs. Emma Pollen of Quasquenton, Iowa. To this union four children were born: Lelia, Mrs. Alexander Crosson, now deceased; Hazel, Mrs. J.C. Kingsbury, Healdsville, Calif.; Ethel, Mrs. O.F. Dean of Los Angeles, Calif. and Harold, deceased.
Mrs. Pember died September 13, 1900 at their home in Eldon, Iowa. The following year he come to Keosauqua, where he was engaged in business and where he was engaged in business and where he has made his home ever since with the exception of a new months spent in California.
On May 28, 1904, he was married to Mrs. Mary E. Vedder, who together with his daughters, five grandchildren and two great grand children mourn his departure.
Mr. Pember was a good man. His interests centered about his home his work and his friends. His life was marked by honesty, industry and uprightness.
The funeeral(sp) services was conducted by the Rev. C.H. Orf, were held from the Burnett Funeral home in Keosuaqua Sunday morning February 7, 1937. Burial was at Eldora, Iowa.
