Came To Van Buren County With Parents in 1865 When Eight Years Old.

Funeral services for Mrs. F.A. Pearson, 81, who died in Keosauqua Saturday, were held Tuesday at the M.E. Church.

Mrs. Pearson was born in Rising Sun, Maryland, on Oct. 9, 1857, the daughter of John and Clementine Phillips. She came to Keosauqua in 1865 when she was 8 years old with her parents. The Pearson home, of unusual design, is one of the oldest in Keosauqua.

Miss Phillips and F.A. Pearson was married on April 10, 1878. Mr. Pearson died March 30, 1935. Two sons, Earl F. of Fairfield and Ernest W. of Oklahoma City, Okla., survive their mother.

Mrs. Pearson was a charter member of the Rebekah Lodge in Keosauqua. She joined the Methodist Church here in 1872 and was a member for more than 66 years.

Besides her sons, the pioneer woman is survived by two grandsons and their wives, one great-grand-daughter and a number of other relatives.

The Rev. C. Hugo Orf conducted the funeral services. Interment was in Purdom cemetery. Pallbearers included: Marion Munson, John A. Craig, Walter Green, Carl Bell, Water(Walter) Beer and Ora Williams.
