Religious Worker Dies At Age 83 After Four Months' Illness.

Eldon. - J.C. Pearson, 83, died at his home in Eldon at 2 p.m. Friday, having been ill for the last four months.

He was the son of Benjamin F. and Eliza Mullin Pearson and was born in Keosauqua November 2, 1855. He lived in the Keosauqua community until 34 years ago, when he and his family moved to Eldon, where for several years prior to his retirement he was engaged as a rural mail carrier.

He was married to Margaret Ellen Ware of Bonaparte, April 17, 1878, and to this union three sons and three daughters were born.

He was one of a family of 12 children and is the last of his family. He was also preceded in death by his wife, January 7, 1926, and an 18-month-old daughter, Edna.

Mr. Pearson spent much time in religious work and the last 15 years of his life were devoted almost entirely to that service. In 1926 and 1927 he spent six months in Palestine with Evangelist Tom M. Olson of Upland, Calif., who will conduct his funeral service.

He is survived by his three sons, Frank W. Pearson of Los Angeles, Harry C. Pearson of Los Angeles and Carl A. Pearson of Indianola; two daughters, Mrs. Floyd Perry of Eldon and Mrs. Harry Chumbley of Trenton, Mo., and an adopted son, Dale H. Pearson of Des Moines.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Campbell funeral home with Evangelist Tom M. Olson in charge. Burial will be in the Eldon cemetery.
