JAMES L. NEIS

James L. Neis died Thursday, Oct. 16, 1958 in the Ottumwa hospital, at the age of 76.

He was the son of Anton and Margaret Pample Neis and was born April 2, 1882 at Harper, Ia. He was married Feb. 13, 1913 to Amy Lazenby who preceded him in death by three days. Mr. and Mrs. Neis made their home in Keosauqua where he was a mechanic at the Davidson garage. When he retired a few years ago they moved to Ottumwa.

He is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Bessie Keller of La Crosse, Wisc., Mrs. Emma Peterson of Aberdeen, So. Dak., and Maude Neis of Paso Robles, Calif.; two brothers, Lewis Neis of Charles City, Ia., and Carl Neis of Mt. Sterling, Ia., one son, Albert of Ottumwa and four grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 18 at 2 p.m., in the Burnett-Catcott Funeral home with Rev. John Nye officiating. Burial was in Purdom cemetery.
