MRS. J.L. NEIS

Mrs. J.L. Neis, 78, died about 9 a.m., Monday Oct. 13, at the Good Samaritan Nursing home at Ottumwa.

She was Amy Lazenby, one of nine children of David and Anceline Fisher Lazenby, and was born April 9, 1880 in Van Buren county. She was married Feb. 13, 1913 to J.L. Neis. They made their home in Keosauqua until a few years ago when her husband retired as a mechanic at the Davidson Garage and they moved to Ottumwa.

At the time of her death she was survived by her husband; a son, Albert Neis; a brother, Will Lazenby; and four grandchildren, all of Ottumwa. At the time of her death her husband was critically ill at the Ottumwa hospital. He followed her in death Thursday, Oct. 16.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Oct. 16, at 2 p.m., at the Burnett-Catcott Funeral home. Rev. John Nye officiated with burial in Purdom cemetery.
