MRS. WEBB BARKER

Edna Margaret Nelson was born near Mt. Zion, Iowa, Jan. 1, 1876, and passed away at her home in Des Moines Friday, Dec. 21 at 7:30 a.m. after an illness of one week with pneumonia. Her girlhood days were spent at the odl home, except four years when she attended Drake University, Des Moines, graduating from the Conservatory of Music in that city. She was married Oct. 4, 1905, to Webb Barker of Mt. Zion and to this union were born five children: William, Philip, Darrel, Zoe and Betheen.

She united with the Presbyterian church in early life and has always been active in all departments of church work, especially in the musical program and training the children. In 1920 the family moved to Des Moines at which time she transferred her membership to Highland Park Presbyterian church where she entered into the church work. At the time of her death she was president of the S.E. division of the Golden Circle and program chairman of the Foreign Board program committee; also a member of the choir.

She was also interested in school work being a past president of the Saylor school parent-teachers association at Highland Park.

The funeral services were held in Des Moines at Harch Funeral Parlor on Saturday afternoon in charge of Rev. Shifler of Highland Park Presbyterian church, and on Sunday at the Presbyterian church near Mt. Zion in charge of Rev. Wiley, assisted by Rev. Irvine, with burial at Miller's Chapel on Sunday afternoon.
