DIED.

BEER - On Monday, May 6th, 1874, THOMAS BEER, aged 80 years, 2 months and 22 days.

The deceased was born in Pennsylvania moved from there to Illinoise(sp) with his parents, about the age of 18; there he married Miss Elizabeth Badzly, at the age of 25; living with her 29 years. She died they had 8 children 5 of them dead, 3 living in the county. He moved to Iowa 37 years ago, located near the spot where his remains was deposited in Van Buren county, near Keosauqua, on the 7 inst. by the side of his companion of his youth. The funeral was well attended by a large concourse of people. The servises(sp) were held at the house; sermon, Text, Rev. 12 chaper(sp), 5 vers. The deceased was brought to think and prepare for the future, about 4 year ago, he commenced reading his Bible and praying the 5th day of last November. He joined the M.E. Church on probration and was Baptized by the Rev. J.S. Ferguson. He giving evidence that God loves to the uttermost, all that come to him in Faith.
