Charles E. Miner, son of George and Katherine Miner, was born in Talyor county, near Bedford, Iowa, March 9, 1865, and passed away at his home near Bonaparte Jan. 3, 1933, aged 67 years, 9 months and 24 days.
He became ill on Dec. 3rd and on the following Saturday suffered a stroke. After three weeks of illness he passed away. He is believed to be the last of a family of nine children.
He was united in marriage to Ella Burr on July 26, 1894. To this union were born three children, Mrs. Olive Blunt of Milford, Iowa, Charles Arthur, who died in infancy, Mrs. Sarah Breitenstein of Farmington. Besides his loving wife and daughters he leaves to mourn his passing nine grandchildren, one little grandson preceding him in death, and a host of relatives and friends.
He was a member of the M.E. church and a firm believer in the word of God.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Bonaparte on Thursday afternoon, Rev. D. Flanagan officiating. Interment in the Bonaparte cemetery.
