Rosanna, youngest child of John W. and Hannah Rupe Owings, was born near Mt. Sterling Oct. 17, 1878, and passed away Sept. 18, 1931, lacking one month and one day of her 53rd birthday.
Following the death of her mother which occurred when she was a small child she was her father’s companion and keeper of the home at Bentonsport where she attended divine worship and Sunday School until her marriage Feb. 19th, 1902 to Fred Winkler.
In Harrisburg township they built a new home, a sanctuary for the little family; here the only child, Granville, was born on Thanksgiving day, 1912, and here in the early hours of morning, the spirit of the wife and mother, suddenly returned to the God who gave it.
Those who mourn with the devoted husband and son, are an only sister, Mrs. Belle Hill of Bentonsport, and a number of nieces and nephews. The other members of her family, father, mother, brother Edward, and sister Julia have preceded her.
A host of neighbors and friends, especially the members of Bentonsport Local F.E. & C.U. of which she was a loyal member, share with the family the loss of this dearly beloved one.
