Nellie M., daughter of Ernest A. and Henrietta C. Lydolph, was born May 20, 1885, and departed this life July 22, 1931, age 46 years, 2 months and 2 days.
She was united in marriage with Noah J. Willits on Easter Sunday, March 29, 1913, at the Baptist parsonage in Bonaparte, the Rev. T.L. Smith officiating. To this union were born two children, both of whom died in infancy.
Mrs. Willits was born and reared in the old Lydolph homestead about a mile north of Bonaparte. After her marriage to Mr. Willits they moved to the Willits farm and later to Bonaparte where she lived until her death.
She is survived by her husband, Noah J. Willits, four brothers, Guy, Charles, Joseph, Homer, a number of nephews and nieces, and her aged mother, Mrs. Henrietta Lydolph, with whom she has lived since her father’s death, and for whom she has so tenderly cared during her declining years. A sister and brother, Emma and Edward, and her father preceded her in death a number of years ago.
Mrs. Willits was not a church member, but believed in and practiced Christian principles. She wished to ally herself more closely with the Christian movement a few months ago when she became a member of the Baptist Mission Circle and had made plans to be hostess to this organization in September.
Mrs. Willits was an industrious and efficient worker and the memory of her kindnesses will live in the hearts of many. She was ever ready to help those who were in need; an exemplary home maker, a kind and sympathetic neighbor who will be sadly missed in the home and community.
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon with Rev. D. Flanagan officiating. Interment in the White cemetery.
