Asbury Lafayette Christian 1836-1898

Asbury Lafayette Christian was born in Tennessee Feb. 5, 1836, and moved with his parents some point to Van Buren county faith when quite young. He was married Feb. 12, 1859 to Gertrude Sprott, and to them were born three children, the oldest of whom died two years ago.

He leaves one son, one daughter, three sisters, two brothers and an aged father. His death occurred at the home of his father, Alex Christian, in Harrisburg township, Sunday, January 23, 1898, being 61 years, 11 months and 18 days of age.

The remains were deposited in the Vale cemetery Tuesday afternoon, January 25th. The exceedingly stormy day prevented the holding of any services.
