OBITUARY

Sarah Elizabeth Moore, daughter of John and Abigail Moore, was born in Columbia, Ohio, August 17, 1842, and passed away on January 16, 1927, at the age of eighty-five years, four months and nineteen days.

In March, 1854, her parents moved from Ohio to Iowa, first settling in Lee county and soon removed from [sic] Van Buren county where they resided on a farm north of Cantril.

There remain a brother, Rand Moore, of Cantril, Iowa, and a sister, Mrs. Lydia Margaret Stewart of Milton and one brother of Dakota.

Up until four years ago when she came to make her home with her sister, nearly all of her life was spent on the old homestead. For a number of years she was greatly afflicted with deafness making it almost impossible for others to communicate with her.

All physical ailments were healed on Sunday when her spirit departed from the ailing body.

Funeral services were held by Rev. H. F. Gilbert in the Presbyterian church in Milton, at eleven a.m. on Tuesday, January 18, 1927, and the body was laid to rest in the cemetery at Cantril, Iowa.
