John C. Hendricks

John C. Hendricks, son of Edmund and Mirandy Hendricks, was born February 8, 1863 on a farm near Douds, Iowa and departed his life, August 23, 1934 at his home in Eldon, Iowa.

He grew to manhood near Douds and was married February 8, 1888 to Rosa Morrow. To this union were born two sons, Orlando and Ira.

He was a stock buyer at Douds, in partnership with George Findlay, a brother-in-law, for twenty years. He moved to Eldon in 1905 and continued this business until his death.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters and one brother. He is survived by his wife, Rosa Hendricks, two sons, Orlando and Ira, a grandson, John, all of Eldon, also by three sisters, Mrs. Silas Pearson, of Libertyville, Mrs. Thomas Morrow, of Douds, and Mrs. Walter Perrine, of Monument, Colorado, and two brothers, George of Birmingham, and Edward of Ft. Madison. Besides the immediate family there are several nephews and nieces, other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Eldon, Monday, August 27, conducted by the Rev. Robbins. Interment was in the Eldon Cemetery.
