Mrs. J.W. Hawkins

Mary Weiler was born in Germany May 16, 1861.

She passed away Sept. 2, 1935, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Roy Davidson, aged 74 years, 3 months and 16 days. She came to America with her parents at the age of seven.

She was married to J.W. Hawkins March 7, 1879. This union was blessed with two children, Frank of Hannibal, Mo., and Maud of Stockport, Iowa.

Besides her bereaved husband and children she leaves to mourn her death, five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and a host of friends.

She was converted at Salem where she joined the Congregational church, later placing her membership with the Methodist church at Stockport. She was an active church worker, especially in the Ladies' Aid and Sunday school work as long as her health permitted her to do so.

She had been an invalid for six years and bedfast for the past nine months. She was a very patient sufferer, always greeting her friends with a smile.

Funeral services were held at the home Thursday in charge of the Rev. O.L. Allison, assisted by the Rev. C.L. McCargar.

Burial was in the Memorial cemetery at Hannibal, Mo.
