John Orval Foster

John Orval Foster, son of Milton D. and Julia A. Foster was born January 16, 1874, on a farm near Bonaparte, Iowa and departed this life December 1, 1934 near Keosauqua, Iowa at the age of 59 years, 10 months, and 15 days.

He was united in marriage to Rosa Roth of Primrose, Iowa on May 2, 1909. To this union were born two children, both dying in infancy.

He united with the Baptist church when he was about 14 years of age and was baptised(sp) by Rev. Yount. He later transferred his membership to the Methodist church in Milton, Iowa, where he remained a faithful attendant as long as health permitted.

He spent the early part of his life near Bonaparte, Iowa, but for the past 25 years has lived in this community, where he had formed many warm friends and acquaintances.

He leaves to mourn his departure his stepmother, Mrs. Mary W. Foster, of Milton, Iowa; one brother, Clarence H., of Milton; one step brother, J.W. McGreevy, of Troy, Iowa, one step sister, Mrs. Lillie McQuoid, of Milton, Iowa; one foster daughter, Viola, whom they took into their home at an early age and reared as their own, and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, December 6, 1932.

Funeral services were held December 3, at 2:00 p.m., conducted by Rev. Merton D. Wyatt. Burial in the Sunnyside cemetery.
