AUGUST JOHNSON

August Johnson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Johnson, was born in Sweden, Feb. 7, 1882, and departed this life Feb. 22, 1944, at the age of 62 years and 15 days. He came to this country with his parents at the age of 3 years. The family first settled in Keokuk, later moving to a farm near Croton.

In March, 1920, he moved with his parents to Farmington, at which place he was living at the time of his death.

Preceding him in death are his father and mother, and two sisters, Lillie and Amanda Johnson. Surviving are two brothers, John of Canada, and Charles of Spearman, Texas. He had many friends. He was a good neighbor, and will be greatly missed in the community.

Funeral services were held at Farmington Methodist church on Thursday afternoon, the Rev. J.S. Ellis officiating. Interment in Croton cemetery.

Mr. Johnson was found dead in the kitchen of his home about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. He was at the home of a neighbor about 7:30 a.m. that morning and seemed in his usual health, but when he failed to call at the same neighbor's home about noon the city marshal, Floyd Simmons was called and with Walter Wixom entered the home and found him lying on the floor. It was thought he had been dead several hours.
