Joshua Davis.

Joshua, son of Isaac and Sarah Ann Davis, was born on a farm near Vernon, Iowa, May 18th, 1855, and departed from this life April 27, 1934, at the age of 78 years, 11 months and 9 days. He was the next to the youngest child of a family of eleven children, all of whom preceded him in death excepting Perry L., of Pocatello, Idaho.

Joshua had made his home for the past several years with his niece, Mrs. Mellita Lackey of Bonaparte, where he received kind and devoted care.

He had been for years and was at the time of his death a member of the Mason Lodge of Bonaparte.

Joshua, or Uncle Josh, as he was familiarly called, was well known and liked in his circle of old friends who were numbered by his acquaintances, as his personality was one to inspire friendship and which won for him many friends wherever he went.

His entire life of 78 years was spent in or near the community in which he was born, and he leaves to mourn his passing besides his relatives and neighbors a host of friends.

Interment was at Vernon cemetery.
