Harold Muntz

Harold E. Muntz, 84, of Farmington, died at 10:25 a.m. Tuesday, May 4, 2004 at Van Buren County Hospital, Keosauqua.

He was born Aug. 24, 1919 near Farmington, to Frank E. and Zoe Swift Muntz. He married Frances D. DeRosear June 28, 1941 at Kahoka, Mo. She survives.

He was a lifelong resident of Farmington and a retired farmer. He entertained locally with songs, humor and guitar playing and participated many years in the Farmington Jamboree.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Wayne (wife Ann) Muntz, Memphis, Mo., and Ron (wife Betty) Muntz, Tecumseh, Mich., five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; a brother, Keith Muntz, Farmington; two sisters, Elouise Syfert, Keosauqua and Louise Rider, Farmington; and a half-sister, Elsie Bowers, Oklahoma City, Okla. He was preceded in death by a brother, a half-brother, and a grandson.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 8 at the Farmington United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Catie Newman officiating. Burial will be in Greenglade Cemetery, Farmington. The family will receive friends at the church from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the funeral.

Memorials to Farmington Emergency Medical Service may be left at the Pedrick Funeral Home or the church, or mailed to the family at P.O. Box 574, Farmington, 52626. Arrangements are by Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua.
