Mary Estelle Miller

Mary Estelle Miller, daughter of Henry and Lucinda Hunter Miller, was born near Mt. Zion, Iowa, December 22, 1865 and departed this life at her home Saturday morning, Sept. 5, 1936, at the age of 70 years, 8 months and 14 days.

She lived at her place of birth until her marriage with George F. Howard, April 13, 1866, after which she moved to Utica and has lived in or near there all her married life.

Early in life she united with the Methodist church in Mt. Zion, later transferring her membership to Utica. She always attended Sunday school and church services regularly as long as she was able.

She was of a family of seven children, the only remaining one being Craig Miller of Mt. Zion.

She leaves to mourn her husband and three children, Stanley M. Howard of Hillsboro; Mrs. Helen Williams of Danville; Mable Howard of Utica and two grandchildren, Frances and Marilyn Williams; one grandchild, Kathleen Howard, having preceded her.

Adored by her husband and children, and loved by all who knew her, a good soul has passed on.

The funeral was held at Utica M.E. church Sunday afternoon, Rev. Hugh Williams of Ladora officiating. Interment in Beulah cemetery near Daville.
