John W. Huffman

John William Huffman, son of William F. and Tracy Ann Huffman, was born on October 18(?), 18?? and passed away at Keosauqua, Iowa, October 27, 1936, aged 7? years and 9 days.

Johnny, as he was familiarly known by his friends lived most of his life in Keosauqua where his good will and friendly spirit (won) to him many good friends. He was a great lover of flowers and took special delight in carrying bouquets to the sick and to his friends.

He was converted some years ago and united with the Keosauqua Methodist church in (1926), where he remained a faithful and devoted member until the time of his death.

He had been in failing health for some time and was confined to his bed for the past two weeks. For the last ten years he has made his home with his nephew and wife, Mr. and Mrs. John Wallace, where he passed away.

He is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Jane Rudd, of Montrose, Iowa, Mrs. Fred Fra??, of Keosauqua, Mrs. Frank Barrie??, of Hillsboro, and two brothers, James of New London, and Otto of Montrose, these together with a number of other relatives and a host of friends mourn his departure.

The funeral services were held from the Keosauqua Methodist church, Thursday, October 29, 1936, the Rev. C. Hugo Orf, officiating. Intermnet was in the Prall Cemetery.
