CLARENCE HERBERT COLLINS

Clarence Herbert Collins, eldest son of George and Ella Collins, was born near Oskaloosa, Iowa, on Nov. 24, 1891, and died at Knoxville, Iowa, May 8, 1842, at the age of 50 years, 5 months and 14 days. He grew up near Farmington and when a young man united with the Congregational church. On April 12, 1913, he was united in marriage to Zella Boyer.

His health failed several years ago and since that time he has suffered with periodic attacks of heart trouble. A few days before his death he went to visit his sister, Mrs. Ream in Knoxville and the change seem to give him a new hold on life. He regained some of his cheerful optimism and planned on starting to work again. His death came suddenly while he was walking along the street with his brother-in-law.

He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Everett. He leaves to mourn besides his widow and mother of Farmington, one sister, Mrs. Norman Ream of Knoxville, two brothers, Francis of Knoxville and Robert, of California, also six nieces and two nephews and many friends.

Funeral services were held Monday, May 11, at the Farmington Congregational church with the Rev. Wingers of the Baptist church officiating. Burial was at Farmington.
