MARGARET LOUISE CRAIG

Margaret Louise Craig, only daughter of Colin P. and Mabelle Craig, was born July 13, 1918, near Kilbourne, Iowa, and departed this life at the farm home near Douds, Iowa, Sept. 30, 1941, at the age of 23 years, 2 months and 17 days.

She graduated from the Keosauqua high school with the class of 1935. She taught in the rural scools(sp) of Van Buren county for three years and was an active leader in 4-H work. She loved children and was happiest when working with them.

She was converted and became a member of the Keosauqua Methodist church and later transferred her membership to the Leando Methodist church.

She was united in marriage with Elwood Harryman at Keosauqua on August 12, 1939. They established a home on a farm south of Leando. Her husband preceded her in death two weeks before and her brother, Wayne, preceded her in death 10 years ago.

She leaves to mourn her passing, her parents, mr. and Mrs. Colin Craig; her brothers, John Estel and Robert; her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John A. Craig of Keosauqua; and Mr. and Mrs. P.P. Pendarvis of Birmingham, Iowa, besides many other relatives and friends. She was a kind and loving daughter and sister and a devoted wife. Her happy, cheerful disposition won her friends wherever she went.

Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. E.K. Parrott and the Rev. C.H. Orf, were held from the Leando Methodist church on Thursday, Oct. 2, 1941. Interment was beside her husband in the Leando cemetery.
