Mrs. Minerva Miller

Minerva Portrum, daughter of John and Margaret Portrum, was born August 28, 1848 in Davis Co., Iowa, and departed this life Dec. 13, 1935, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Pearl Brooks.

She was united in marriage to George W. Miller March 27, 1866. To this union were born three sons, John, Perry and Clyde; and four daughters, Anna, Sylvia, Mary and Gertrude. The husband preceded her in death Dec. 14, 1924, having lived past their golden wedding anniversary. John, Anna, Sylvia and Mary also preceded her in death.

Having lived almost her entire life in this community she was very highly esteemed by all her friends and neighbors. She felt the urge of the Spirit and followed her Lord in baptism.

She is survived by two sons, Perry and Clyde Miller; and one daughter, Mrs. Gertrude Brooks ; eighteen grandchildren; and forty-two great grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Sunday at the Mt. Gilead church in charge of the Rev. Marie Herrington. Interment was in the Hidabaugh cemetery.
