MRS. D. M. LAZENBY
Anceline Delilah Fisher was born Sept. 10, 1849, in Clinton county, Ohio, where she grew to young womanhoood [sic]. June 15, 1868, she was married to David M. Lazenby and that fall they came to Iowa, making the trip in a covered wagon.

Nine children, 7 daughters and 2 sons, came into this home to call her mother. One daughter, Etta, preceeded her in death Oct. 20, 1902. All the rest were with her during her last illness except Mrs. Dora Vance of Colorado.
In early life she became a christian and came into the Christian church of Keosauqua by letter in 1903 and has kept her faith through the years. In the early days when the lumber wagon was their only mode of travel they thought nothing of a five mile trip with their little family to church.
It can be truly said of her than she was a homemaker for she took great pride in her home and family.

NOTE: I have discovered that Anceline is the mother of Bertha Lazenby who married Stephen Fellows, a distant cousin of mine. I would like to know who the children of David & Anceline were. Thanks, Karen.
