OBITUARY OF PAUL A. GABLEMAN
Paul Alexander Gableman was born Nov. 14, 1842, in Dommitzsch, Germany. At the age of 83 years and 1 day he departed this life Nov. 15, 1925. His father and mother moved to Ft. Madison, Iowa, when he was 9 years old. A short time later they moved to Farmington, Io.
Mr. Gableman enlisted in the 7th Iowa Cavalry, July 4, 1863, and served 3 years in the Union Army, during the Civil War. On July 21, 1866, he married Rhoda Lucinda Hoskin. A short time after his marriage they moved to Davis county, Io., where, with a very few changes within the county, they have lived since. Just 60 years after he came to America he and his wife took a three months' trip to his birthplace in Germany.
Eight children were born to this union of 59 years: Fred, of Kansas City; Neri, of Riverside, Calif.; George, deceased; Benjamin Franklin, deceased; Charles, deceased; Eunice, of West Grove, Io.; Paul, of St. Louis; Rhoda Helen, of Selma.
Early in his married life he became a member of the Congregational church in Bloomfield, and later became a member of the Methodist church, living through out the years a consistence christion [sic] life.
Funeral services will be conducted at the home Wednesday afternoon, by Rev. Geo. I. Turpin, members of the G. A. R. taking part in the services. Pallbearers will be chosen from the American Legion boys. Inter- [rest is missing]
