LAWRENCE BOYER

Lawrence Edward Boyer, son of Francis and Olive Boyer, was born Dec. 1, 1885, near Memphis, Mo. He passed away at the University hospital in Iowa City, Feb. 20, 1944, at 2 a.m. at the age of 58 years, 2 months and 20 days.

On April 29, 1913, he was united in marriage with Selma M. Clemens, and to this union nine children were born. A son, Leo Francis, died in infancy.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife and eight children, Mrs. Dorothy Woods, now of Washington, D.C., John of Ottumwa, Mrs. Wilson McVey of New London, Wayne of Keosauqua, and Harold, Irene, Marilyn and Esther at home; also one grandson, Richard Lee Boyer, and two sisters, Mrs. Lottie Durbin and Mrs. Elisie Harness of Ottumwa.

He has been a resident of Van Buren county his entire life. He seemed to be in his usual good health until a few days before his death.

When a young man he was united with the Methodist church of Pittsburg under the pastorate of Rev. Young.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at Pedrick funeral home with interment in Pittsburg cemetery.
