Margaret Armentrout
Mrs. Margaret Kirkpatrick Armentrout was born in Washington county, February 15, 1851. She died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. H.R. Watton in Burlington Wednesday morning, October 14, aged 85 years, seven months and 29 days. She had lived in and near Selma the greatest part of her life, except the past twelve years when she had made her home with her daughter.
She was united in marriage with J.C. Armentrout, Oct. 12, 1875. To this union were born four children, two daughters, Mrs. R.H. Watton of Burlington, Mrs. Simon Overturf, Ottumwa, and two sons, Harry and Seth Armentrout, who survive her.
She is also survived by three brothers, Flectcher Kirkpatrick, of Eldon; Henry Kirkpatrick of Wyandotte, Nebraska; William Kirkpatrick, Oregon; and three sisters, Lucy of Crown Point, Ind.; Ida of Astoria, Ore.; and Martha of Oklahoma.
Mrs. Armentrout was a member of the Methodist church.
Funeral services were held at the Selma Methodist Episcopal church Saturday, in charge of the Rev. Jay Watermna(sp). Interment was in the Iowaville cemetery.
