Samuel O. Allison
Samuel O. Allison, son of Snowden and Mary Smith Allison, was born in Douglas county, Illinois, November 9, 1871, and died August 22, 1935, at his home in Farmington, age 63 years, 9 months and 13 days. Death came after an illness of three weeks, following a paralytic stroke.
Mr. Allison was united in marriage with Miss May Choyce on August 5, 1905 at Hutchins, Texas. With his wife he later moved to Ponca City, Okla., where a daughter Mary Elizabeth, was born in 1911. In 1914 the family came to Iowa, first living at Northwood, and then at Keosauqua for two years. In 1920 Mr. Allison and his family located on a farm near Farmington where they lived until he retired to make his home in Farmington.
Surviving are the widow and daughter, Mary Elizabeth, a brother, Richard Allison, Brighton, three sisters, Mrs. Dora Gross and Mrs. Emma Starks, both of Paris, Illinois, and Mrs. Amy Ritmer of Champaign, Ill., a number of nephews and nieces, and a large circle of friends. Two sisters, Mrs. Cora Lissle and Mrs. Lulu Applegate have preceded him in death.
Funeral services with the Rev. Harvey E. Butler in charge, were held at the home Aug. 24 with interment in the Green Glade cemetery south of Farmington.
