Mrs. Charles W. Aikins

The following relatives of Hillsboro and Bonaparte vicinity were called to Winterset, Ia., last week to attend the funeral services of Mrs. Charles W. Aikins at four o'clock Friday afternoon at the Pidrick(?sp) funeral home: Mr. and Mrs. W.B. Tade and son, Robert, Mr. and Mrs. H.D. Tade, Mrs. Nellie Phelps, Mrs. Walter Harlan, Mrs. Floyd Church and Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Phelps.

Alice Carey Tade, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William A. Tade, was born in Harrisburg township, Van Buren county, Iowa, Nov. 12, 1870, and died at her home in Winterset, Iowa, Tuesday night July 8th.

She was educated in the public schools, also in Howe's academy of Salem and Central college, Pella, Iowa. She taught several terms in the public schools and in 1897 was united in marriage with Charles W. Aikins. They located to Winterset, Iowa, where he has since been engaged in the shoe business.

Surviving are her husband, Major C.W. Aikins; three daughters, Mrs. George Campbell of Pittsburg, Pa.; Mrs. Joe Schoenenberger of Enid, Oklahoma; and Mrs. Charles Martin of Patterson, Iowa; two brothers Howard D. and William B. Tade of Hillsboro; and three sisters, Mrs. Nellie B. Phelps and Mrs. Walter Harlan of Hillsboro, and Mrs. Howard Morrison of Wheatland, Wyoming.
