Mrs. C.O. Anders
Lydia McKey, daughter of John and Elizabeth McKey, was born at Liberty, Adams county, Ill., October 28, 1866, and departed this life July 6, 1934, at the age of 67 years, 9 months and 8 days.
August 21, 1889, she was married to C.O. Anders. To this union were born two children, Lloyd of Fairfield, and Mrs. John Crowner, of Lockridge, Iowa.
Besides the husband and children, are left to mourn her loss, ten grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. John Finger, of Birmingham, Iowa, and one brother, Gus McKey, of Whittier, Calif.
She was a member of the Methodist church and an earnest, devoted Christian, following the teaching of her master.
For the last three years she has been an invalid, leading a "shut-in's" life and suffering much pain, patiently and uncomplainingly.
On the morning of July 6, after a night of pain, just before the day she passed. Funeral services were held from the Hoskins Funeral Home, in Fairfield, on Sunday afternoon, the 8th, at 3:30 o'clock, in charge of the Rev. F.M. James, of the Methodist church in Birmingham.
Mrs. Stanley Watts and Mrs. Glenn Williams sang "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and "No Night There."
The pallbearers were John Rail, John Crawford, Frank Bagby, David Collais, Floyd Heston and John Weber. Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield.
