Mrs. Armada Glotfelty
Armada, daughter of David and Elizabeth Compton, was born July 6, 1843, at Grantsville, Maryland, and passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W.L. Morrell in Birmingham, Iowa, on May 18, 1934, at the age of 90 years, 10 months and 12 days.
She was united in marriage on February 14, 1860 to Elisha Durst who passed away April 4, 1867.
On February 14, 1870, she was united in marriage to Nelson Glotfelty, who preceded her in death in October, 1893. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. W.R. Shott and Mrs. W.L. Morrell, of Birmingham, one son, Charles N. Glotfelty, of Cantril, , one brother D.B. Compton of Webster, S.Dak, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. One daughter, Mrs. Anna Hope, preceded her in death on May 13, 1917.
The funeral service was held at the W.L. Morrell home on Sunday afternoon, at 2 ocklock(sp), in charge of her pastor, the Rev. F.M. James. Three appropriate selections were rendered by the Williams quartet. The pallbearers were Wm. Burch, Ora Williams, Albert Van der Wall, Lee Ruggles, Stanley Kerr and J.H. Graham. The interment was in the Maple Hill cemetery.
