Dean Bretz
Dean Bretz was born at Rockwell City, Iowa, July 14, 1896. He passed away at a hospital in Keokuk Tuesday, Jan 30, 1935. His death resulted from burns received when a can of powder was accidentally discharged at the Bretz strip mine near Farmington.
Mr. Breta was united in marriage to Blythe Cleave, Dec. 26, 1934, at Tucumseh, Neb.
Mr. Bretz is survived by the widow, seven brothers and three sisters, who reside in various locations. One brother, Frank, of Farmington was associated with him in business.
Mr. Bretz served eleven months with the American forcers in France. He was a member of the American Legion and of the general Contractors Association.
Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the Charles Cleave home in charge of the Rev. Cochran, of Lockridge. Burial was in the Farmington cemetery.
