Jennie Downard Dies In California

Burial At Inglewood Park April 18; Survived By Two Sons; Two Preceded Her In Death.

Word was received of the death of Mrs. Jennie E. Downard, 95, who passed away at her home in Los Angeles, California, April fifteenth.

Born October 27, 1848 at Lebanon, Oho, she came with her parents to Utica, Iowa, in 1857. At the close of the Civil War, she was married to John H. Downard. Four sons were born, two of them survive and were with her in her last illness, Ray E. and Claude E. Downard.

The Downard family moved to Fairfield in 1901. John H. Downard passed away in 1923. Mrs. Downard has resided with her son C.E. Downard since 1923.

Interment was in the Inglewood Park Mausoleum at Los Angeles, California on April 18.
