Mrs. Richard J. Green

Mattie Minter, daughter of Jacob and Nancy Minter, was born in Summerset, Ohio, May 15, 1851, and departed this life February 24, 1935, at the age of 84 years 9 months, and 9 days.

She was married to Richard J. Green, Nov. 12, 1873, and to this union were born 6 children, Mrs. Carrie Wilson and Mrs. Ella Carruthers having preceded her in death as did the husband only two days before. The remaining children are Mrs. Nancy Morris, of Troy, Iowa; Mrs. Grayce Laughlin, George and Wilbur Green of Douds, and eleven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

She was converted in her youth at the Bethel church near her home and she was ever interested in its affairs. She was a good and kind neighbor and mother, much loved by her children. She had expressed herself as being ready to meet her God.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 26 at the Bethel church, with Rev. Stevens of Douds in charge. Interment was made in the Troy cemetery.
