Final Rites Held for J.B. Downard

Chicago Man, Former Keosauqua Resident, Leaves Parents, 6 Brothers and 4 Sisters

Funeral services for John B. Downard, 25, of Chicago, former Keosauqua resident, were conducted at the Christian church in Keosauqua this afternoon in charge of the Rev. Edna M. Fellows. Burial was at Miller Chapel cemetery near Keosauqua.

Mr. Downard died in Chicago Monday after being ill several weeks.

Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Downard of Keosauqua; six brothers, Kenneth of Keosauqua, Orland in the army, Dale with the Pacific fleet, Roy, at the Great Lakes naval training station, Verne Downard of Guadalcanal island and Robert at home, and four sisters, Mrs. Robert Vickerman and Mrs. Carl Daniels of Chicago and Roberta and Marguerite Downard at home.
