William H. Nichols
William Henry Nichols, the son of Joe and Jane Elizabeth Nichols was born July 14, 1866 near Pierceville, Iowa and passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Paul Martin near Glasgow, April 28, aged 68 years, nine months and 14 days.
He was united in marriage with Stella Hughes in 1888, who survives him with their ten children: Grace Shipley, Lebanon; Losie Cox of Packwood; Hershel Nichols of Milton; Almon of Ottumwa; Edwin of Des Moines; Clarence of Glasgow; Henry of Ollie; Freda Else of Packwood; Willard of Glasgow; Delpha Martin of Glasgow; 33 grandchildren and two great grandchildren; three brothers, Otto Nichols of Cantril; Curtis and Howard of Camanche; and one sister, Rose Grade of Ottumwa. One daughter, Pearl, died in infancy.
Funeral services were held in the Cantril Methodist church on Friday afternoon in charge of the Rev. Reynolds Murdock of Winfield assisted by the pastor, Rev. James.
Interment was in the Cantril cemetery.
