Mrs. Henrietta Haberman

Mrs. Henrietta Haberman, widow of Henry Haberman, and fourth daughter of Frederick and Sarah Keasling, deceased died at her home near Bonaparte Feb. 13, 1935, at the age of 67 years, 8 months and 21 days.

Henrietta Keasling was born at Bonaparte, May 26, 1867, and came with her parents to their new country home two miles northeast of Bonaparte in the spring of 1874 where her childhood and young womanhood were spent.

Sept. 11, 1906, Henrietta (Pet) as she was called from childhood, was married to Henry F. Haberman and came to reside on his nearby farm where he passed away June 15, 1922. His death left her alone, and her two brothers, William and Archibald Keasling, moved from the Keasling farm to make their home with her, thus relieving her of the farm responsibility, and she in return made for them one of the happiest of homes. Her entire life has been of self denial and sacrifice for the welfare and pleasure of others. No task was too hard for her to undertake if it benefitted another, and left for us to hang in memory's gallery beautiful pictures of her loving acts, gentle words and thoughts of kindness for all. Her soul was in the keeping of the Savior and she found that "In the way of righteousness is life; and in the pathway thereof there is death."

Of her immediate family she leaves three nephews, Charles F. Keasling, of Minneapolis, Minn., Stanley Keasling, of Keokuk and Hugh H. Keasling, of Ft. Lyons, Colo., and Mrs. Irvin Hirschler of Ft. Madison; several half nephews and nieces; three aunts and one uncle, many cousins and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held at the Baptist church in Bonaparte, Friday afternoon, Feb. 22, the Rev. J.V. Wright of the Farmington Baptist church officiating. Interment was in the Bonaparte cemetery.
