Mrs. Julia E. White was a daughter of Horace and Nancy Smith. She was born in Hanover, Chautaqua county, New York, Mar. 24, 1833. She was married to Nathan White in Cascade, Sheboygan Co., Wis., Nov. 19, 1851. To this union were born two children, Chas. White, now of Des Moines and Alicia F. White, who was married to Dr. R. B. Pearson in Bonaparte, in Sept. 1878, and died in March 1896. Mrs. White died July 1, 1898. Her husband died in Bonaparte in 1885. She leaves one son, Chas. White, two brothers, Newton H. and Wallace Smith, two sisters, Mrs. Finette McComb, of Bonaparte, and Mrs. Helen A. Justice, of Hutchinson, Kan. Her life was full of duty to and sacrifices for those she loved.
The funeral occurred from the home of her son-in-law, Dr. R. B. Pearson, Sunday afternoon, July 3, 1898, by Rev. A. E. Thornley, and the remains were reposed in the Bonaparte cemetery.
