Lida Helen Moore, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Moore, was born in Keosauqua, Feb. 18, 1868, and died at Detrioit [sic], Michigan, where she had gone on a visit, May 8th, 1914, being ill only four days with pneumonia. After her father's death her mother, with her children, went to California to live. In San Francisco 25 years ago Lida was united in marriage with Antolin Raventos, who with their one son Jack survives, and both were here at the funeral. Mrs. Raventos developed much talent as a florist and established a big business in that line. Later she concluded to make an adventure in the same line in South Africa. She took with her to Cape Town thousands of rare plants, all of which were killed when her ship was fumigated. Later she went into business at Chicago. Her body was brought to Keosauqua for burial on Tuesday of this week. Funeral services were held at the home of her aunt Mrs. H. H. Disbrow, conducted by Rev. O E Perkins at 3 o'clock. The beautiful flowers on the casket were presented by Marshal Field & Co., of Chicago, employers of the deceased's son Jack.
