EMELUS PARISH OF WAPELLO DIES SHORTLY AFTER SISTER'S FUNERAL
Emelus E. Parish, 67, of Wapello, Iowa, died suddenly Friday afternoon, while sitting in a chair at the home of his late sister, Mrs. George Searight, in Cantril, shortly after her funeral. It was presumed he suffered a heart attack. He had been crippled for some time.
Mr. Parish was born in Clark county, Missouri, the son of Hiram and Sarah F. Parish. He was one of 10 children, all of whom are dead with the exception of his brother, Roswell, also of Clark county. He was married February 17, 1892, to Susie E. Wade. Eight children were born to this union, two of whom have died.
Mr. Parish entered business at Granger, Missouri, in 1906, and in 1922 established a produce business at Wapello, where he had resided since.
He is survived by his wife and children, Ray J., Clovis W., Lawrence E., S. Newton, Mrs. Clara M. Deppy, and Mrs. Elmer Syphrit, and his brother, Roswell Parish of Granger. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church at Wapello at 2 p. m. with burial in the Wapello cemetery.
