Nora Augusta Waters was born in Howell county, Missouri, July 14, 1890. Here she grew to womanhood, was converted and joined the M. E. church of which she was a faithful and earnest worker up to the time of her illness.

She was united in marriage to Roy Stewart June 1th [sic], 1913. God blessed this union with one child, a son, Berlin Maxville.

She with her husband and son came to Cantril, Iowa, about a year ago, where they have since made their home.

On Saturday morning, December 2, she passed peacefully away being 26 years, 4 months and 18 days old. She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, a son, mother, Mrs. J. W. Waters, and eight brothers of Moody, Missouri, and one sister, Mrs. Guy Duckworth of Cantil [sic], Iowa.

Funeral services were held at the Cantril M. E. church Tuesday, December 5, 1916. The sermon was preached by Rev. W. H. Jones, from 1st Cor. 15-35.

She was an earnest, faithful Christian woman and bore her suffering with a resignation that was trully [sic] heroic. She knew she could not recover and waited patiently for the invitation, come up higher, and was glad when the summons came.

The floral offering covered the casket adding a silent testimony to a good and helpful life. The interment was made in the Maple [Grove?] Cemetery.
