OBITUARY
Sarah E. Cubberley was born at Zanesville, Ohio, Sept. 4, 1831, and died at her daughter's home, Mrs. Quinn, in St. Louis, Jan. 24, 1920, where services were held Sunday afternoon. When quite young she came with her parents to Keosauqua, where she attended school, and later taught school in this county. She was married to Wm. Moore July 17, 1853, at Charleston, Lee county. They made their home in Keosauqua until 1887, when they moved to St. Louis. While in Keosauqua they both united with the M. E. church. Eight children were born to them, two dying in infancy. Those living are: Horace G. and Chas. W. of Los Angeles, Calif.; Mont C. of Kansas City; Mrs. Laura Owen and Mrs. Bertha Quinn of St. Louis, and Mrs. Ida Saunderson of Keosauqua. Besides these she leaves 13 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Her husband died Jan. 29, 1912, at the home of their daughter, Mrs. Saunderson. Mrs. Moore's body arrived in Keosauqua Monday forenoon, Jan. 26, and funeral services were conducted by Rev. Caughlan at the M. E. church at 2:30 p. m. The floral offerings were beautiful. Burial was in the Purdom cemetery. J. C. Calhoun, J. C. Strickling, J. M. Overman, Edgar Lane, M. A. DeHart and T. E. Campbell were the pallbearers.
