William Henry Hilpert, a son of Theodore and Anna Hilpert, was born May 10th, 1889. Was married to in [sic] Miss Bertha Evans Dec. 20, 1911. He died Jan. 7th, 1919, age 29 years, 7 months and 27 days.

He was one of a family of seven children all of whom remain but one sister who died early in life.

The remaining are: Mrs. Lydia Mea[d]e, of Granger, Mo.; Mrs. Linda Pea[rs]all, of Creighton, Nebr.; Mrs. Ada Miers, of Oshkosh, Nebr., Elmer and John of Azen, Mo. His father and mother died within the last 3 years.

Mr. Hilpert united with the Presbyterian church at Troy, Iowa, when about 18 years old and continued a member of that church until his death.

No husband could have been more nearly ideal, than was this man, in his home life. His kindness and attentions to Mrs. Hilpert's parents, who made their home with them, has been a matter of favorable comment on every hand. His honesty, industry and treatment of all with whom he came in contact found him to be a man of high character and splendid ideas.
