Guy C. Acton

Guy C. Acton, 77, of Eldon, died Monday, at 4 p.m. at Van Buren Memorial hospital in Keosauqua.

He was born April 8, 1889, near Eldon, the son of J. J. and Mary Pumpery Acton and farmed mos of his life in the Eldon communitiey. He was a member of the Eldon Methodist Church.

His marriage to Mable Hodson took place Dec. 2, 1910. She survives. He also leaves a son, James Acton of Ottumwa; five daughters, Mrs. Florence Talbott of Farson, Mrs. Irene Spilman of Jefferson City, Mo., Mrs. Ferne Miller of Milton, Mrs. Maxine DeBurn of Ottumwa, and Mrs. Barbara Jean Daines of Phoenix, Ariz.; twelve grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Nellie Loy of Batavia and Mrs. Bertha Hite of Fairfield.

Two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.

The service was held Thursday, Dec. 23 at 2 p.m. at the Campbell Funeral Home in Eldon with the Rev. Paul Denny of the Methodist church officiating. Burial was in the Eldon Cemetery.
