Girl, 17, Dies Thursday at City Hospital

Miss Elsie Marion Slaughter, aged 17, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph H. Slaughter, Route 8, died at the city hospital Thursday evening at 5 o'clock from a blood clot on the heart. She was operated on for appendicitis on May 17 and was on the road to recovery when she was stricken last evening.

Miss Slaughter was born on June 28, 1913, in the Willowbrook vicinity. She attended grade school at Dresden and later Wright's high school at Willowbrook.

She became a member of Milfork Baptist church five years ago.

Besides her parents, two brothers, Donald and George, both of the late home; four sisters, Mrs. Kenneth Meeks of Route 6, Kathryn, Marjorie and Edith, all of the late home; grandfather, J.M. Breithaupt, of Dresden, and her grandmother, Mrs. Laura Slaughter, survive.

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Milfork Baptist church in charge of Rev. J.O. White. Burial will be made in the church cemetery.
